What a beautiful day we had for the Perth Tay Tennis Club’s annual season-opener yesterday afternoon!
The wind made things a little more exciting, as members played mixed doubles for a few hours, followed by a BBQ, and a special treat from the Ontario Tennis Association when Zhenya and Nina arrived with a smash box – a little healthy competition as they recorded everyone’s fastets hits. Members had a chance to play with several different partners over the course of the afternoon with some social time between matches.
Big thank you to Paul Anderson for organizing the event, as always, and to Tom Baumgartner for running the show, to Vicky Butram and David Johnson for the meal we were able to share together after the tournament. The club will host a few more tournaments this season, with a ladies doubles tournament scheduled for June 28th, a men’s advanced tournament July 19th, and another mixed doubles tournament on Sunday August 23rd, and our triples tournament will be held August 30th.
